BLACK FEATHER WHISKEY WINS DOUBLE GOLD

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (May 17, 2018) Black Feather Whiskey has been awarded the rare Double Gold distinction at the 2018 San Francisco World Spirits Competition. This is one of the industry’s most respected awards because the entire judging panel representing a variety of backgrounds must rate the product as gold in a double-blind taste test. Black Feather joins a small handful of brands that have won Double Gold in the history of the competition for a small-batch bourbon aged under five years.

Black Feather launched its first American bourbon in Texas and Utah just last fall, but both the whiskey and the brand have been nearly five years in the making. “From the beginning, we wanted Black Feather to be not just about cocktail culture, but a go-to bourbon for any occasion,” said CEO Jeremy Rawle, “Premium, but not precious.”

“We knew we had something special when our whiskey was picked up by dive bars, high-end restaurants, mega retailers and everyone in between,” said Head of Operations Hunter Robinson.

In addition to its smooth-drinking whiskey, Black Feather has become known for its many creative endeavors, including a new app that brings the brand’s illustrated crow, Odin, to life. “We continue to develop both our Spirit Pilots and State of Music documentary film series that share the stories of individuals who are living what they love. We’ve also just launched an app that gives our crow a personality of its own. It’s a way to both get the word out about the Double Gold award and have a little fun with our brand.” Users simply point a smartphone at a bottle of Black Feather to meet the animated Odin. The app will be available for download in late May from Google Play and the Apple App Store.

Black Feather Whiskey is currently available in Texas, Utah, Colorado and California—and plans to open Tennessee, Arkansas, Louisiana and Florida in the coming months, with Illinois and Canada to follow.

ABOUT BLACK FEATHER

Black Feather is the American workhorse whiskey that’s premium, but not precious. The flavor starts big with an 86-proof kick and then rewards drinkers with an easygoing finish. Founded by three lifelong friends who have shared decades of memories, Black Feather is a bourbon that was made to be shared.
